1. Product Overview

Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) modified bitumen waterproof membrane is a premium waterproofing material made by modifying high-quality bitumen with SBS elastomer. It is reinforced with polyester felt or fiberglass to enhance tensile strength and dimensional stability. This membrane offers superior flexibility, excellent high-temperature resistance, and strong adhesion, making it ideal for roofing, underground waterproofing, and infrastructure projects.

2. Key Features

Outstanding Flexibility: The SBS modification enhances elasticity, allowing the membrane to accommodate structural movements and prevent cracking.

Superior Temperature Resistance: Maintains flexibility in low temperatures and resists deformation in high temperatures, ensuring long-term durability.

High Tensile Strength: Reinforced with polyester or fiberglass, providing excellent mechanical strength and resistance to external forces.

Strong Adhesion: Bonds securely to concrete, metal, wood, and other substrates, ensuring effective waterproofing performance.

Aging and Weather Resistance: Excellent resistance to UV rays, ozone, and oxidation, extending the membrane’s lifespan.

Versatile Application Methods: Can be installed using torch-applied, hot-melt, or self-adhesive methods to suit different project requirements.

3. Applications

Waterproofing for industrial, commercial, and residential building roofs.

Underground waterproofing for basements, tunnels, and subways.

Protection for bridges, highways, and railways.

Waterproofing for reservoirs, water treatment plants, and other water retention structures.

4. Installation Process

1. Surface Preparation: Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or loose particles.

2. Primer Application: Apply a bitumen-based primer to improve adhesion between the membrane and the substrate.

3. Membrane Installation:

Torch-Applied Method: Use a propane torch to heat the membrane’s underside while unrolling it onto the surface.

Hot-Melt Method: Apply hot bitumen adhesive before laying the membrane.

Self-Adhesive Method: Remove the release film and press the membrane onto the prepared substrate.

4. Seam Treatment: Overlap adjacent membranes and heat-weld or adhere them to create a seamless waterproofing layer.

5. Quality Inspection: Conduct adhesion and waterproofing tests to ensure proper installation and long-term durability.
